Hubei Province, abbreviated as “E” and also known as “Chu,” is located in central China.
It borders Anhui to the east, Chongqing to the west, Shaanxi to the northwest, Jiangxi and Hunan to the south, and Henan to the north.
Covering an area of 185,900 square kilometers, Hubei makes up 1.94% of China’s total area.
As of 2024, the province has a population of 58.34 million.
Its terrain is characterized by mountains on the east, west, and north, with a central lowland forming an incomplete basin.
The climate is subtropical monsoon with distinct seasons, hot summers, and cold winters.
Historically, Hubei has been a cultural and political hub since the Xia Dynasty and continues to evolve.
